On August 7, 2026, the Monitoring Center under the Security Department of Phu My Hung Corporation received a request for assistance from the Criminal Police Division of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC02) regarding a motorcycle theft that occurred in Phu Thuan Ward, adjacent to the Phu My Hung City Center.
Upon receiving the request, the Monitoring Center reviewed footage from its surveillance camera system and traced the suspect’s movements. At 8:17 PM on August 6, 2026, the suspect entered Phu My Hung from Phu Thuan Ward, went to a parking lot, and spoke with a security guard from a contracted security service company. The suspect then left the motorcycle at the parking lot and took a ride-hailing vehicle out of Phu My Hung.
Working with the security company, the Monitoring Center identified the suspect as H.T.L., born in 1990 and residing in Phu Thuan Ward. He had previously worked as a security guard for the company but had quit approximately 15 days earlier without notice.
All information collected was compiled and handed over to PC02 to support its investigation. By 12:30 PM on August 7, 2026, PC02 reported that the suspect had been arrested at an address on Huynh Tan Phat Street in Phu Thuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the authorities, the suspect has multiple prior convictions and records of legal violations. He had previously been sent to a compulsory rehabilitation facility and was prosecuted for theft in 2022.
